Meghan – It has been 3 weeks since Meghan had tubes put it and she is doing great. She is happier, has a better appetite and is attempting to talk up a storm. Her words these days include hi, up, bye bye, shoe and she is working on bubble. Her pediatrician is a little concerned about her weight (at 15 months she is weighing in at 19lbs 5 oz), but we will see if her weight improves between now and November when she will go back to the pediatrician.
Jacob – Jacob is staying busy with playing outside and with his trains. He has had a healthy and safe summer. We are working on numbers and his alphabet to make sure he is ready to start kindergarten next fall.
That is all for now. Time for the kids to get to bed.

While we have known for a couple of weeks that Meghan would need to have plastic tubes put in her ears it did not make it any harder to take her to the Hospital at 6:00am to have the procedure done. Everyone we knew reassured us that everything would be fine but handing her over to the anesthesiologist was the scariest event I have had to encounter. After meeting the nurse and going over things with her doctor, Jason and I were sent to the waiting room at 7:24am. The procedure was supposed to take 10 – 15 minutes. At 7:30am we were called back and told to wait for the doctor. I held my breath as the doctor came until he said everything went well. I wanted to cry, but he was giving us instructions for her. We could not see her just yet but a nurse would come get us when she was awake. While waiting for the nurse I did shed a tear or 2….or 10. I am very thankful that her procedure went well and I hope she does not any more procedures. I have to say that the biggest surprise for me today is how emotionally exhausting it was. I am glad to be home and glad that tomorrow is a regular day.

While this page looks somewhat neat and organized, it has been fun (and frustrating) to get to this point. I have learned a lot with a lot still left to learn, but I consider where I am now to be an accomplishment. That’s it for now.

I, Jenny, have a blog. It all began with my boss deciding that I needed to take a Dreamweaver class. I was not sure that I was ready for such a class but went anyway. The class was interesting and I learned a lot and got even more curious. My husband got me started on this page. Right now I have no idea what this will turn into or what it will be, but it promises to be a learning experience. (Just like my kids.)
